Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has warned the Luo community to be wary of political friendships that will determine their future representative.
While speaking in Nyatike, Mbadi asserted that the community had to decide on which teams they were going to be aligned to come the next elections.
According to reports, he pointed out that President William Ruto has paved the way for goodwill to the Luo people by ensuring they have representation in his government and that this is an indication that the people of Luo can solidify their good political relationship with the Rift Valley communities.
He said that residents of the Rift Valley supported Raila Odinga in the presidential elections of 2007 and this support points out the possibility of the Luo people's cooperation with the Rift Valley regarding political matters.

The Cabinet Secretary described President Ruto as a leader who is ready to work with all people in the country.
According to Mbadi, the Luo community stands a chance of winning Ruto's support for the presidency in the coming elections.
Mbadi also said that provided Raila Odinga is not in the race, he would vote for Ruto in the 2027 elections.
Furthermore, the CS noted that efforts were in place to ensure that Odinga and President Ruto worked together as one.
He said that the working of the two leaders may not only be beneficial to the Luo community but also to the whole nation as well.
