Super Metro has suspended the crew of one of its buses following a horrific incident in which a passenger was allegedly thrown out of a moving bus following a fare row.
The incident, which occurred in Kahawa Wendani, has sparked public outrage, prompting the company to move with speed as investigations continue.
According to witnesses, the victim boarded the matatu on Tuesday, March 11, with only Ksh50, despite the fare being Ksh80.
The tout reportedly refused to accept the money and pushed the man off the moving matatu in a bizarre turn of events.
The victim died on the spot, with a postmortem revealing multiple fractures to his ribs, hands, and legs.
Super Metro issued a statement on Wednesday, March 12 regarding the incident, expressing heartfelt regret and compassion to the victim's family and loved ones.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic event. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time. No one should lose their life in such a senseless manner. At Super Metro, we hold the sanctity of human life as a core value guiding our actions and decisions,” the statement read.
The company assured the public of its commitment to passenger safety and confirmed that the crew involved had been suspended as authorities investigate the matter.
“While the matter is under investigation, we want to assure everyone that we take safety very seriously. We do not condone reckless behavior, and as a precautionary measure, the crew involved has been suspended. We are fully cooperating with authorities to ensure justice is served,” Super Metro added.
The company has since pledged to reinforce strict safety measures and retrain its staff to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
The police have yet to issue an official statement regarding the case.
