ODM Suffers Heartbreaking Loss as Key Leader Passes Away

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is mourning the loss of Mzee John Orwenjo Umidho, the Chairman of its Alego-Usonga branch, who passed away last night after a prolonged illness.

Mzee Orwenjo was a dedicated and loyal member of the party, having spent years working to strengthen ODM's presence in the region.

His efforts were instrumental in fostering unity, stability, and order within the party, particularly in Alego and the larger Siaya County.

In a statement, ODM described Mzee Orwenjo as a valuable asset to the party and expressed deep sorrow over his passing.

"We mourn the passing on last night of our Alego-Usonga Branch Chairman Mzee John Orwenjo Umidho after an illness. Mzee was a loyal & and active member of the party and spent most of his time strengthening the party. He was instrumental in bringing sanity, stability and unity," the statement read in part.

His death is a significant loss, coming just two months after the passing of his son, Wakili Vincent Orwenjo.

The party acknowledged the emotional toll this double tragedy has taken on the family and extended its prayers and heartfelt condolences to them.

ODM also expressed its support for the party members, friends, and the entire Alego-Usonga and Siaya County community who are mourning the loss.

"As a party, we have lost a gem. His death comes barely two months after the death of his son Wakili Vincent Orwenjo. We pray for his family, friends, relatives and the entire ODM fraternity in Siaya County for the loss," the statement read.

Mzee Orwenjo's legacy as a steadfast and impactful leader within ODM will be remembered fondly by those who knew and worked with him.
